Secure remote access for Home Assistant
Your home, securely in your pocket.
Reach your Home Assistant home from anywhere, at your own address - yourhome.remote.askmyhomeai.com - professionally installed and maintained by your installer. Your usual login and two-factor stay the only gate; we never see your password.
Sold through professional installers.
How it works.
No ports to open, no accounts to manage, no config to touch - your installer turns it on, and your home gets an address of its own.
Secure remote access
Every connection runs over TLS. Your Home Assistant login and two-factor authentication stay the only gate - we never add a login of our own, and we never see your password.
Monthly AI house report
What happened in your home this month - energy use, issues noticed and fixed - delivered right inside your Home Assistant, no separate app or inbox to check.
Professionally installed
Your installer sets it up on your system in a few minutes and stays your first line of support - the same person who knows your home already.
Private by design
The connection runs end-to-end through an outbound tunnel - no ports opened on your router, no forwarding rules, no configuration changes to your Home Assistant.
From activation to first sign-in, in three steps.
-
Your installer activates it
A few minutes of setup on your existing Home Assistant system - nothing to move, nothing to rebuild.
-
You get your home's own address
A private address just for your home, like
yourhome.remote.askmyhomeai.com, ready to use from any device. -
Sign in from anywhere
Open the official Home Assistant app or a browser, enter your usual username, password and two-factor code - the same login you already use at home.
Who it is for.
Anyone whose smart home is managed by an installer, and who wants to reach it without thinking about routers, ports or VPNs.
Second homes
Vacation properties
Check the heating, the cameras or a leak sensor before you arrive - or after you've left - without driving over or calling your installer.
Frequent travelers
Life on the move
Warm the house before you land, confirm the doors are locked from the airport, get a nudge if something looks off while you're away.
Multiple properties
More than one home
Each property gets its own address and its own login. Check on all of them from the same Home Assistant app, one at a time, without juggling VPN profiles.
Family homes
Everyday households
Unlimited family members can sign in with their own Home Assistant account - no shared passwords, no extra seats to buy.
Aging in place
Keeping an eye in, together
Family members who help manage a relative's smart home can reach it remotely too, through the same account-based access as everyone else.
Installers
Your installer's toolkit
Installers offer remote access as part of the service they already provide - professionally set up, professionally supported, billed alongside the rest of your system.
Frequently asked questions.
Straight answers about access, data and what happens if you ever want to stop.
Do you see my data?
Our relay carries the encrypted traffic between your phone and your home, and we commit contractually to never inspect it - relaying it is the service, reading it is not. The monthly AI house report is built from aggregated telemetry only (things like energy totals and detected issues); the raw data behind it stays in your home and is never sent to us in full.
What happens if I cancel?
Your home keeps working exactly as before, entirely on its own local network - Home Assistant does not depend on us for anything local. Only the remote address stops working, so you would need to be on your home network (or use another remote-access method) to reach it from outside.
How is this different from Nabu Casa?
Nabu Casa is a great option if you manage your own Home Assistant. AskMyHomeAI is for when a professional installer manages your home for you: it comes with installer support, and it adds the monthly AI house report on top of secure remote access - it is not a replacement for Nabu Casa, it is a different way to get remote access when someone else is looking after your system.
Do I need to open ports on my router?
No. The connection goes out from your home through an outbound tunnel, so nothing needs to be opened, forwarded or exposed on your router, and no configuration changes are made to your Home Assistant.
Which app do I use?
The official Home Assistant app, on iOS or Android, or any browser. You just add your home's own address and sign in as usual - there is no separate AskMyHomeAI app to install.
What about two-factor authentication?
Fully supported - it is the gate. We never add a login of our own; your Home Assistant username, password and two-factor authentication are the only thing standing between the internet and your home.
Who installs it?
AskMyHomeAI is sold and set up through professional installers, not directly to the public. Your installer activates it on your system and stays your first line of support if anything needs attention.
How much does it cost?
Pricing is set together with your installer, who activates and bills the service alongside the rest of your system. There is a free trial period, one price covers the whole home with unlimited family members, and you can cancel anytime.
Security and privacy.
Remote access to your home is not something to hand-wave - here is exactly how it stays yours.
Encrypted in transit
Every network hop between your device and your home is encrypted with TLS. Our relay passes your traffic through under a contractual no-inspection commitment - relaying it is the service, reading it is not.
Your login is the only gate
We never add a login of our own. Your Home Assistant username, password and two-factor authentication are what stand between the internet and your home - we never see your password.
No ports opened
The connection runs through an outbound tunnel your home initiates. Nothing is opened, forwarded or exposed on your router.
No config changes
Your Home Assistant setup is not modified to add remote access - your installer activates it alongside your existing system.
We proxy, we don't read
Traffic passes through encrypted - we route it, we do not inspect it. The AI house report works from aggregated telemetry, not your raw data.
Installer accountable, always
Your installer activated it and can see and manage it for your household - the same professional relationship you already trust with the rest of your system.
